This project transformed an underutilized basement into a sophisticated mid-century–inspired entertainment room and guest suite. The existing layout featured a centrally located built-in bar that disrupted circulation, limited furniture placement, and made the space feel smaller than it was.
A key design decision was the removal of the original bar and its replacement with a streamlined dry bar positioned to support, rather than obstruct, the room’s primary seating and media areas. This intervention improved flow throughout the space and allowed for more flexible furniture arrangements.
The project highlights a curatorial approach to decoration, emphasizing the sourcing of one-of-a-kind vintage furnishings and accessories. Each piece was selected to reinforce the mid-century character of the space while remaining within the client’s budget. The result is a cohesive interior that balances functional planning with layered, visually engaging detail.
